Description
Midtown Farmhouse is a house dated 1740, with later additions and alterations. The original section to the south was a small house with an adjoining barn, now a garage. The house is constructed of coursed, squared rubble with a stone plinth, and has graduated slate roofs with brick end chimneys. The two-storey, two-bay front features a glazed door with a dated inscription above: "John Bellas Margraet his wife 1740," and sash windows to each floor on the left side. A 19th-century house extension, also under the same roof, is built of sandstone blocks with quoins. This extension has a two-storey, three-bay front with two sashes to the ground floor and three above. All windows are set within stone surrounds. The lower barn has a 20th-century garage door inserted.
