Description
The Methodist Chapel, dated 1818, features later additions and is constructed from sandstone blocks with rusticated quoins on a chamfered plinth, topped with moulded eaves. The hipped roof is covered in graduated slate and has a corniced stone chimney at the eaves on the south side. The building is oriented at right angles to the road and has a two-storey, three-bay front.
There are steps leading up to the first-floor chapel entrance, which consists of a panelled door set in a shouldered, rusticated surround. Above the door is a carved panel that displays the words "METHODIST CHAPEL" flanked by two two-handled vases of lilies. Each side of the entrance features a single window with a semicircular head. The ground floor has two sash windows with glazing bars, along with an entrance on the south side where three sash windows alternate with two doors; one door and one window are now blocked. Above this entrance is a single semicircular-headed window and two carved medallions that bear religious symbols and the date 1818.
