Description

Hole Farmhouse is a house dated 1743 with later additions. It is built of ashlar stone with rusticated quoins on a chamfered plinth. The building features a lintel band above the ground floor windows and a band with cavetto moulding at the eaves. The roof is graduated slate with an original outshut at the rear, complemented by stone copings, kneelers, and end chimneys.

The front of the house is symmetrical, two stories high, and has five bays. It includes a panelled door set within a segmentally pedimented doorcase, which bears the inscription "John Hall 1743." There are two windows on either side of the door and five above, all framed in architraves. Most of the windows are sashes with glazing bars, and one original mullioned two-light window remains in the outshut.

To the west, there is a former single-storey wash-house that has a 20th-century casement window inserted into the front. To the east, a former two-storey 19th-century coach house has been converted into a garage. The occupant has indicated that original interior fittings are still present.
