Description
The byre located to the south of Rayson Hall is a building that likely dates from the late 17th century and has undergone some alterations. It forms the west range of a courtyard and is constructed from coarsed, squared rubble with quoins, topped by a graduated stone flag roof. The building has two storeys and features two original doorways with false four-centred heads; one is on the ground floor to the west, while the other, which is blocked, is located on the first floor to the south. Access to the hay loft is provided by steps on the north side. There are various other windows and doors, most of which are later additions. The byre is listed for its group value, although the adjoining buildings are not included in this listing.
