Description
Townhead is a farmhouse dating from the early 19th century. It features rendered walls on a plinth with painted raised quoins and a graduated slate roof, along with rendered chimney stacks. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The entrance includes a six-panel door with a patterned fanlight, set in a pilaster surround, topped with a moulded cornice and a triangular moulded pediment. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are framed by raised painted stone surrounds. To the right, there is a lower two-storey, single bay that connects to an L-shaped wing, which is styled similarly to the main house and has sandstone rubble walls. The entrance to this wing features an alternate block surround and a keyed entablature, with a panel for the date that appears blank.
