Description

Ainstable Hall is a farmhouse that likely dates from the 1840s. It is built from hammer-dressed red sandstone, featuring large quoins and modillions, and has a Welsh slate roof with coped gables and kneelers, supported by yellow brick chimney stacks on sandstone bases. The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. A contemporary gabled stone porch with a slate roof provides a side entrance. The ground floor has three-light mullioned windows with chamfered surrounds, while the upper floor has similar two-light windows. Ainstable Hall is mentioned in Mannix and Whellan's Directory from 1847, listing Joshua Morley as a farmer, but it does not appear in the 1829 Directory. The listing does not include any farm outbuildings.
