Description

The terrace wall, gate posts, and steps in front of Skirsgill date from the late 18th century or early 19th century. They are constructed of red sandstone ashlar and feature fireclay balusters. The low wall in front of the house has central gate posts and stone steps at either end. The wall is supported by regular square piers and open balusters, topped with saddleback coping. This structure is listed for its group value with Skirsgill.
