Barn North Of The Cottage, On East Side Of Courtyard

This is a barn located north of The Cottage, on the east side of the courtyard, dated and inscribed over the entrance with "W.I. 1804". It is constructed from squared pink sandstone with red sandstone dressings and has a graduated greenslate roof. The barn is two storeys high and consists of three bays. It features a large central segmental-arched cart entrance with plank doors, along with flanking plank doors set in stone surrounds. There is an external stone step leading to a loft doorway on the right side, and the loft window opening, along with several small square vents, are all framed in stone surrounds. The barn is listed for its group value with The Cottage. There is a right-angled extension that is now used for domestic purposes, but this part is not of interest.
