Description
Stable Cottage is a former outbuilding that has been converted into a residential property, likely originally built as a house in the early 18th century. The structure is made of stone rubble with dressed quoins and features a slate roof. It stands two storeys tall.
The east elevation includes a small light on the ground floor and a three-light single-chamfered mullioned window on the first floor, which had no glazing at the time of the survey. There is a wide entrance with a cambered timber lintel and a door that has ventilation slots. A gable-end stack is present.
On the south side, there is a window with chamfered reveals, while the north side features a first-floor entrance accessed by steps. The rear of the building has a lean-to outshut and a first-floor window. It is noted that there is a panelled cupboard dated 1700, as recorded by the Royal Commission on the Historical Monuments of England.
