Description
Wordsworth House is a house dated and inscribed with "R&ED 1699" (Reginald & Elizabeth Dobson) above the entrance. It features painted stucco walls with a string course, eaves cornice, and V-jointed quoins set on a chamfered plinth. The roof is made of graduated greenslate and has banded stucco chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high with four bays and includes a right-angled single-storey, two-bay extension. The entrance has a centre top-glazed panelled door framed by a bolection architrave. The windows are cross-mullioned and set in stone architraves. The extension features a door and a sash window in painted stone surrounds, all within an overall glass porch. Inside, the ground floor has late 17th-century panelling, wall cupboards, panelled doors, and beamed ceilings. There is also a late 17th-century staircase with twist balusters.
