Description
Fairbrothers Farmhouse is a house dated 1692, which is inscribed on a stone above the entrance, although this inscription is now partially decayed. The building features rendered walls and a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and two bays, each with gables that have decorative barge boards. The windows are casements with two Tudor-headed lights and glazing bars. The central entrance has a 20th-century door, and there are paired brick stacks at each end of the house. Inside, the ground floor has ovolo moulded beams, one of which features decorative stops. The staircase and landing balcony have a grooved handrail, rectangular-section newels, and crudely cut splat balusters. There have been alterations made in the 19th century.
