Description

The parish stocks, dating from the 18th century, are located on the east side of Church Street in Newton-le-Willows. They consist of two stone piers with shaped heads and grooves designed to hold wooden boards. One of the piers is inscribed with the name "J. McCall." The stocks have been recently restored, and new wooden boards have been inserted.
