Description

The Yew Tree House is a house dating to 1712, with 19th-century alterations. It is located on the north side of the B5320 road in Tirril. The house has roughcast walls with V-jointed, painted quoins. The roof is of graduated greenslate with rebuilt chimney stacks made of banded sandstone. It is two storeys high, originally comprising two bays, with a single-bay extension to the right under a common roof, which may have been a stable. A 20th-century door is set within a painted stone architrave. The windows are sash windows set within 19th-century painted stone surrounds. A further door is located to the right, set within chamfered surrounds. The building is listed for its group value with the Queens Head Hotel.
