Description
The barns east of Yanwath Hall date from the early 19th century and have undergone some alterations in the 20th century. They feature mixed sandstone rubble walls with flush quoins and are topped with graduated greenslate roofs, which are partly hipped. The main barn is two storeys high and has four bays, with a lower right-angled extension that has five bays. The two-storey section includes four segmental-arched doorways, one of which has been blocked to create a casement window. There is a central segmental-arched loft doorway with slit vents on either side. The extension has three segmental-arched doorways, now blocked to form casement windows, along with flat-headed doorways. Other extensions to the right of the two-storey barn are not of interest. The barns are listed for their group value with Yanwath Hall.
