Description

Two milestones, likely from the early 19th century, are located on either side of the steps leading to the entrance of number 128 on Highgate in Kendal. These cylindrical stones stand about 2 feet high and are painted white with black sans-serif lettering. The left-hand stone indicates "EDINBURGH 135 MLS," while the right-hand stone shows "LONDON 258 MLS." The lettering is not carved, and the mileages have changed since the last listing description.
