Description

No 26A is a shop located on the northern side of Stricklandgate in Kendal. It was built in the early to mid-19th century and has undergone later additions and alterations. The building features tooled ashlar stonework with pilasters near either end and a lintel band at the second floor. It has a dentilled cornice and a graduated slate roof with stone chimneys at each end. The structure is three storeys high and consists of five bays. The shop front is from the 20th century, and each of the upper floors has five sash windows with glazing bars. There is a projecting signboard on the first floor.
