Description

Milestone located east of Whinfell Park, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and supported by sandstone. The triangular face of the milestone is inscribed on two sides with the distances to Appleby (10 miles) and Penrith (3 miles). The top of the milestone is slightly broken.
