Description

This milestone, located north of Christ Church, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century and was erected for the Wigton-Workington Turnpike. It is made of whitewashed stone and features a round top. The front of the milestone is inscribed with the distances to Wigton (12 miles) and Workington (11 miles).
