Description

Milestone located south of Langrigg, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, was created for the Wigton-Workington Turnpike. It is made of whitewashed stone and features a round-topped design. The front of the milestone is inscribed with the distances to Workington (17 miles) and Wigton (6 miles).
