Description

This is a milestone located east of Crossriggs, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, which was erected for the Wigton-Workington Turnpike. It is made of whitewashed stone and features a round-topped design. The front of the milestone is inscribed with the distances to Workington (16 miles) and Wigton (7 miles).
