Description

Westnewton Hall is a house dating from the early 19th century, situated in Westnewton. It is constructed of mixed red and yellow dressed sandstone, with pilastered quoins and an eaves cornice on a chamfered plinth. The building has a hipped roof covered in graduated greenslate, with red sandstone chimney stacks. The hall is two storeys high and five bays wide. A plain boarded front door is set beneath an intersecting-glazing-bar overlight within a plastered surround featuring a false keystone. Sash windows are present throughout, with those on both floors to the left having glazing bars, all set within painted stone surrounds. Farm buildings adjoining the hall are not of particular architectural interest.
