Description

Milestone located west of High Scales, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, was erected for the Wigton-Workington Turnpike. It is made of whitewashed stone and features a round-topped design with a weathered inscription on the front indicating distances to Workington (18 miles) and Wigton (5 miles).
