Description

Milestone located south-west of Saltpans, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, was erected for the Wigton-Workington Turnpike. It is made of whitewashed stone and features a round-topped design with a weathered inscription on the front that reads: "WORKINGTON 9, WIGTON 14 MILES."
