Description
Gill House is a house built around 1830 for John Reay. It features incised painted stucco on a chamfered plinth and is topped with a hipped graduated greenslate roof that has brick chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high and has four bays, with a rear extension that creates an overall L-shape. The central French windows are situated beneath sash windows that are flanked by canted bay windows, all of which have glazing bars set in painted stone surrounds. At the rear, there are double three-panel doors within a Gothic porch that has clustered columns and a quatrefoil-panelled frieze. Above this, a pointed-arched window features intersecting glazing bars under a hoodmould. Each window is fitted with panelled internal shutters.
