Description

St Mungo's Well is a wellhead built in 1878, located over the site of a medieval well. It is constructed from hammer-dressed red sandstone and features iron clamps. The wellhead is circular and has a side door, topped with a conical stone cap. The inscription on the top, in 19th-century lettering, reads "WITH JOY YOU WILL DRAW WATER FROM THE WELLS OF SALVATION." This well is associated with the nearby church of St Mungo.
