Description
This is a well head with a pump, dating from the late 19th century, located on the south side of Church Lane in Doulting. It is constructed from ashlar stone and features a housing with a moulded stepped coping. The well head has a segmental-headed recess divided into two orders, which is decorated with roll-moulding. At the center, there is a cast-iron plate displaying raised initials "W.N.F.M." and a central horizontal slot that holds a projecting wrought-iron pump handle, with the spout positioned below. Additionally, there is a brass memorial plaque added in 1976.
