Description
The churchyard cross located in the churchyard of the Church of St. Aldhelm dates back to the 15th century and is made of dressed stone. It features a base consisting of four octagonal steps and a square socket with detached angle shafts. The design includes a moulded weather-drip and fillet, with each face adorned with the Emblems of the Passion. The square shaft is tapering with angle shafts, but the base of the calvary is missing. This cross is noted in Pooley M.'s "Old Crosses of Somerset" from 1877, and a photograph of it is available in the National Monuments Record.
