Manor, subsequently the vicarage, now house, Early C18, restored late C19. Ashlar frontage, grooved end pilasters, sill band on ground floor, moulded cornice, coursed and squared rubble on returns, coped verges, slate roofs, large C19 Gothic ashlar stacks. Symmetrical frontage, 2 storeys and attic, 5 bays, 12-pane sash windows, in architraves to first floor, dropped keys; windows on ground floor in Gibbs surrounds with triple keys. Central door opening in Gibbs surround, triangular pediment with cartouche, half-glazed door, late C18 ashlar porch in conforming style, cornice, blocking course, paired half-glazed doors. Left return in Gothic style, stone-mullioned and transomed windows, canted oriel, 2 pairs of later French windows. Attached to the rear a stable-block; rubble, slate roof, coped verges, ashlar stacks, finial. Two storeys, 2 bays, a small opening with an iron casement and a pitching eye with an inserted iron casement on first floor, on ground floor two 2-light stone-mullioned windows with stopped labels. Pointed arch door opening with paired plank doors, and a broad opening with plank doors. Attached walls with broad segmental openings giving onto a carriage yard, 2 reused medieval gargoyles on wall to left. Further gargoyle on rear of stable block. Interior of house with both C18 and C19 features. A building of considerable quality. (Photograph in NMR).
