Description
Woodlands and Edenvale is a late 18th-century house that has been divided into two separate residences. The exterior features pebble-dashed walls that are partly cement rendered, with V-jointed quoins and an eaves cornice set on a chamfered plinth. The roof is made of graduated greenslate and has coped gables with kneelers, along with brick and rendered chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and cellars, consisting of three bays, with a fourth bay to the left now known as Edenvale. There are steps leading up to a six-panel door with an overlight, which is sheltered by a 20th-century gabled wooden porch. The cellar windows are half-lights, and the sash windows have glazing bars set in painted stone surrounds, except for Edenvale, which lacks glazing bars. At the rear of Woodlands, there is a ground-floor pointed-head window with interlaced glazing bars, while the rear of Edenvale features a large 20th-century window. The building is listed for its group value with Allonby House.
