Description

No. 61 Warwick Road, which includes No. 51 Spencer Street, is a pair of houses that have been converted into a surgery at the end of a terrace, dating from the late 1840s. The building features Flemish bond brickwork with light headers on a chamfered plinth, and it has dressings made of calciferous sandstone, some of which are painted. The structure has V-jointed quoins and an eaves cornice, topped with a hipped roof made of local slate and original ridge brick chimney stacks.

The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with a single-bay return on Spencer Street, extending an additional four bays as No. 51 Spencer Street. Both doorways feature panelled doors with in antis surrounds topped by an overall radial fanlight within brick reveals; the door for No. 61 is centrally located. The sash windows are set in brick reveals with stone sills and flat brick arches. The interior has not been inspected. Weathered stone panels at each angle were originally inscribed with "SPENCER STREET" and "CAVENDISH PLACE."
