Description

Three houses forming a terrace, dating from the 1870s, and now used as offices. They are constructed in calciferous sandstone ashlar on a chamfered plinth, with brick returns. Nos. 1 and 3 have stone-bracketed metal gutters, No. 3 has a half-gabled dormer, and No. 5 has a Dutch-gabled dormer. The roof is of graduated greenslate, with a hipped terrace end, and white brick ridge chimney stacks.

Each house is three storeys and two bays wide. The entrances on the left and right have panelled doors, approached by steps, with fanlights and overlights. No. 1 has a half-column surround to the door, No. 3 features a Venetian porch, and No. 5 has an Ionic porch. Canted bay windows extend to the first floor on No. 5. Other upper-floor windows are set in chamfered stone surrounds and architraves, some of which are paired. No. 3 has bracketed sills and cast-iron patterned railings imitating balconies. A 20th-century dormer has been inserted into the left-hand hip end. The interior has not been inspected.
