Description

Two houses, numbers 8 and 9, forming part of a terrace, were built in the late 1860s or 1870s. They are constructed of calciferous sandstone ashlar, set on a moulded plinth, with string courses and a bracketed cornice. The roof is graduated greenslate, with a gabled dormer on number 8, and the chimneys are of cream brick.

Each house is three storeys and three bays wide, originally designed as an identical pair. Steps lead to panelled front doors, each with a fanlight and sidelights on number 8, set within columned porches with shaped heads. Canted bay windows are present under projecting paired sash windows. All other windows are sashes, with the window above the entrance having a hood-mould. The windows are set within various chamfered surrounds. The interiors have not been inspected.
