Description

105 and 107 Warwick Road are two houses, with one now serving as a guesthouse, that form the end of a terrace. They were built in the late 1850s or early 1860s and feature Flemish bond brickwork with light headers on a chamfered plinth, with all dressings made of calciferous sandstone. The properties have a stone-bracketed metal gutter. No. 105 has a graduated greenslate roof with 20th-century skylights, while No. 107 has a hipped Welsh slate roof with gabled dormers on the front and side, and original ridge brick chimney stacks that have been partly reduced.

Both houses are two storeys high; No. 105 has a four-bay facade, whereas No. 107 has a two-bay facade and a four-bay return on Hartington Place, following a double-depth plan. No. 105 features an off-centre panelled door with an overlight set in a stone architrave, topped with a dentilled bracketed cornice. No. 107 has a similar doorway on the left. Sash windows are present in stone architraves, with panelled aprons on the ground floor and bracketed sills above. No. 107 has similar details but features 20th-century casement windows. The corner of the property displays a blue enamel street sign for Cavendish Place and a cast-iron plate for Warwick Road. These houses are depicted on the first edition Ordnance Survey map from 1865.
