Description

Two houses forming part of a terrace, built in the 1840s in Carlisle. The buildings are constructed of Flemish bond brickwork with light-coloured headers on a chamfered stone plinth, and have painted stone dressings. A decorative stone cornice runs along the top of the facades. Number 113 has a Welsh slate roof, while number 115 has a graduated green slate roof; both retain original brick chimney stacks. The houses are two storeys high, with two bays each, designed as a mirrored pair. Steps lead up to paired panelled doors, each with a fanlight in a stone surround, set within a round brick arch. Canted bay windows may have been added in the 19th century. The upper floor features sash windows with stone architraves; the windows in number 115 have glazing bars. The interiors remain uninspected.
