Evening Hill Farmhouse And Adjoining Barn

Evening Hill Farmhouse and the adjoining barn date from the mid or late 17th century, with the barn being from the 18th century and an early 19th-century extension. The farmhouse is built of red sandstone rubble with flush quoins, while the barn is made of similar stone and is whitewashed. Both buildings have Welsh slate roofs, with the barn featuring a sandstone slate roof and a coped gable on the left side. There are 19th-century brick chimney stacks.

The farmhouse is two storeys high with three bays, and there is a single-storey, two-bay extension to the right. The long barn is located to the left under a common roof. The farmhouse has 2-pane sash windows set in chamfered stone surrounds, with some traces of removed stone mullions. There is a blocked fire window at the extreme right. At the rear, an outshut features a low-level stone water spout. The extension includes a top-glazed panelled door and a 2-pane sash window in a painted stone surround. A roofed cart entrance to the farmyard separates the barn from the house. The barn has a central plank door in a painted stone surround and slit vents on two levels.
