Description

This is a house dating to circa 1833, built for Lieutenant-Colonel John Knubley Wilson. It is constructed of calciferous sandstone rubble with a chamfered plinth and flush quoins, and has a graduated greenslate roof with candlestick chimney stacks. The house is two storeys, four bays, and double span, designed in a Tudor style. A one-and-a-half storey gabled porch features double glazed doors within a pointed, chamfered surround, topped by a square hood mould, with a small square false window above. Cross casement windows are set within chamfered stone surrounds and squared hood moulds. The left-hand end wall includes two false windows with painted glazing bars. The rear elevation has casement windows with glazing bars in similar stone surrounds.
