Description

The Old Vicarage is a house, likely dating from the mid-18th century with extensions added in the early 19th century. It is constructed of cement-rendered walls, with the extension featuring V-jointed painted quoins. The roof is covered in graduated greenslate, with a hipped roof on the extension, and the building has brick chimney stacks. The main section of the house has two storeys and three bays. A projecting two-bay extension to the left extends to the rear of the main house in an L-shape, and a further entrance extension, of the same height as the extension, fills the angle between the two buildings. There is a panelled door with a radial fanlight, set within a painted stone surround. Most windows are sash windows with glazing bars in painted stone surrounds, though a ground-floor window to the right has a double sash without glazing bars. The end wall on the left side of the building is slate hung.
