Description
Close Farmhouse and the adjoining barn date from the early 18th century, with a 19th-century extension. The farmhouse features painted roughcast walls and is topped with a graduated greenslate roof, along with cement rendered chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and consists of three bays, with a four-bay stable conversion on the right and a right-angled barn on the left, all under a common roof. The original part of the house has two flat stone-mullioned windows and one small fire window, while the other windows have been enlarged to sash style with 19th-century painted stone surrounds. There is a modern door on the right, with sash windows in painted stone surrounds, and one enlarged 20th-century window. The barn includes large plank doors and a smaller plank door located in the left return wall.
