Description
Bank Farmhouse and the adjoining barns date from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The farmhouse features painted roughcast walls with angle pilasters and is topped with a graduated greenslate roof, which has rebuilt brick and rendered chimney stacks. It is two storeys tall and has three bays, with a single-bay extension on the right side that shares a common roof. The barns to the left are lower and then higher in height.
The farmhouse has a 20th-century door set in a painted stone architrave, which is sheltered by a wooden porch. The windows are Yorkshire sash style with glazing bars, framed in painted 19th-century stucco surrounds. The extension has larger 19th-century sash windows also in painted stucco surrounds. One of the barns features a plank door and a casement window, both set in painted stone surrounds. There is a pent extension on the left side, while the higher barn has plank doors and openings framed in red sandstone surrounds, all topped with small round vents.
