Description
West End Farmhouse and the adjoining barn date from the late 17th century. The farmhouse features clay walls on a stone plinth and a graduated greenslate roof, along with rendered chimney stacks. It is two storeys high and has two bays, with the barn positioned at right angles to the left under a common roof. The farmhouse has a 20th-century door set in a painted stone surround, and on the ground floor, there are two-pane 19th-century sash windows. Above, there are three-pane sash windows in rebated jambs, which still show remnants of a central stone mullion.
The front wall of the barn is made of clay and extends to the left in brick, while the rear wall has been rebuilt using cobbles and rubble, topped with a 19th-century Welsh slate roof. The barn features large plank doors in a cart entrance to the right, along with two entrances that have stone surrounds and a boarded window. Additionally, the farmhouse has an 18th-century cobble extension at the rear.
