Description
The Croft is a farmhouse that has been converted into a private house. It dates from the late 17th century, with a rear extension added in 1778, which features the initials W. & B.C. above the entrance. The building has whitewashed cobble and clay walls resting on a chamfered stone plinth, and it is topped with a corrugated iron roof that covers thatch, along with brick ridge chimney stacks.
This single-storey structure has an attic and is characterized by a long, low profile with a steeply pitched roof made of cruck construction. The entrance features a plank door set in a plain painted stone surround. There are sash windows with glazing bars, also in plain stone surrounds, and a small two-pane attic window located in the right side wall. The single-storey extension at the rear has a lintel that is dated. Inside, there are three pairs of full crucks. To the left of the farmhouse, there is a barn in ruinous condition, along with outbuildings that are not of interest.
