Description
A late 17th or early 18th century farmhouse with an early 19th century extension, alongside a barn. The farmhouse is constructed of painted rendered clay walls with a Welsh slate roof, and features a brick chimney stack. The extension is built of Flemish bond brickwork on a chamfered stone plinth, with a graduated slate roof and a brick chimney stack. The barn is of whitewashed clay, incorporating brick and cobbles for repairs and has a sandstone slate roof.
The farmhouse is a two-storey, three-bay structure. The extension is a single-storey, two-bay addition. The barn is a single-storey building of seven bays. The farmhouse has 20th century casement windows set within 18th century painted surrounds. The extension features a 20th century door and glazed fanlight framed by reeded pilasters, moulded impost blocks and a keystone within a round arch. It also has casement windows with glazing bars in plain painted surrounds. The barn has a sash window with glazing bars and a plain painted stone surround to the left, with slit vents above. A plank door is situated to the right. An extension of clay, single-storey and with a plank door, projects from the extreme right side of the barn. A projecting cart entrance, partly brick, has large plank doors.
The interior of the barn features seven pairs of full crucks. Other outbuildings are not considered significant.
