Description

Yew Tree Cottage is a house that likely dates from the late 17th century, with an extension added in 1892. The original structure features whitewashed rendered clay walls set on a chamfered plinth, with a thatched roof covered by corrugated iron and a 20th-century brick chimney stack. The extension is built of English garden wall bond brickwork and has a Welsh slate roof, along with an end brick chimney stack.

The cottage is single-storey with two bays, while the extension is two-storey with two bays. At the front, there is an outshut that has a roof made of sandstone slate and Welsh slate, topped with an end brick chimney stack. The entrance includes a plank door to the right and a 20th-century door to the left, both framed by plain stone surrounds. On the original house, there is a casement window to the right, while the left side of the extension features single-pane sash windows and a ground floor keystone that is dated. The 20th-century extension to the left is not of particular interest.
