Description
Burgh Head House is a house built in the early 19th century, with a mid-19th century extension. It features painted rendered walls on a squared painted stone plinth and a graduated slate roof, along with rendered end chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. The entrance includes a six-panel door with a glazed fanlight, set within a pilastered surround topped by a moulded cornice. The windows are sash style with glazing bars and painted stone sills.
To the right, there is a lower two-storey, three-bay extension constructed of English garden wall bond brickwork, also with a graduated slate roof and brick chimney stacks. The ground floor of this extension has two-light chamfered stone-mullioned windows featuring cast-iron patterned casements and hood moulds. Above, there are gabled dormers with similar single-light patterned casements and decorated bargeboards. The rear of the house includes a 20th-century garage door.
