Description
Lower House Farmhouse and the adjoining barn are a 17th-century farmhouse and barn, with the farmhouse remodeled in the early to mid-19th century. The barn dates from the 18th century and has undergone 19th-century alterations. The farmhouse is timber-framed and has been refaced with brick, topped with a Welsh slate roof. The barn is also timber-framed, featuring weatherboard cladding and a corrugated metal roof, with some brick refacing. The farmhouse has a rectangular plan, facing southwest, with the barn attached at the southeast end, creating an L-shape with the main house. The house has gable-end stacks and a central entrance, and is two stories high. It features two glazing barn sash windows and a central ledged door. The rear of the house reveals square panelled timber-framing, while the northwest gable end is weatherboarded.
