Description

The pump inside the Outer Gatehouse at Cockermouth Castle is a Grade I listed structure. It features a square stone pier with chamfered panelled corners and a curved capping. The pump has an iron curved handle and a wooden pipe, along with a stone trough that is square with a circular basin. The inhabited parts of Cockermouth Castle are considered a group with the uninhabited parts.
