Description

10 Castlegate is an early 19th century building that stands two storeys high. It features a cement-rendered exterior with projecting stone quoins that have V joints. The roof is covered with slate. The entrance has a doorway with original wrought iron railings leading up to the steps. On the ground floor, there are two sash windows, and three more sash windows are located on the upper floor, all framed with plain stone. This building is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 10 (even) and Nos 1 to 13 (odd), as well as Nos 14 to 18 (even) and Nos 30 and 30A Market Place.
