Description

Larch House is a building that dates from the late 1860s or 1870s, originally constructed as a house and now used as an office. It features red brickwork set on a stone plinth, with all dressings made of calciferous sandstone. The building has V-jointed quoins, a sill band, and a stone-bracketed metal gutter. The roof is made of Welsh slate and includes 19th-century gable brick chimney stacks.

The structure is two storeys high and has three bays, designed as a double-depth house. The central entrance consists of a panelled door with an overlight, situated within a prostyle Tuscan porch. There are bay windows on either side, framed by stone architraves and featuring panelled aprons. The sill band on the left side is inscribed with "LARCH HOUSE." The interior has not been inspected. Notably, this building does not appear on the 1865 Ordnance Survey map. Additionally, there is a 20th-century garage to the left. Larch House is part of a terrace that includes Nos 21 and 22 Portland Square and No. 4 Wilfred Street.
