Description
The Cottage and adjoining barn is a farmhouse and barn dating from the early 19th century. The cottage features incised stucco with angle pilasters and an eaves cornice on a chamfered plinth. It has a graduated greenslate roof with a rendered chimney stack. The barn is constructed from a mix of cobbles and sandstone, also topped with a greenslate roof. The building is two storeys high and has two bays, with a long lower barn extending to the rear. The cottage includes a four-panel door beneath a radial fanlight, all set in a painted stone surround. It has sash windows with glazing bars, also in painted stone surrounds. The barn features plank doors and upper slit vents. This listing is included partly for its group value with the adjoining Limes Farmhouse.
