Description
Beckside Cottage and the attached farm buildings date from the late 18th century, with some alterations made in the early 19th century. The cottage is constructed of red brick and coursed limestone rubble, topped with a pentile roof featuring two red brick gable stacks. It is two storeys high, with a three-bay south front that has a central doorway and a wooden gabled porch. This doorway is flanked by single glazing bar sashes with segment heads, and above are two small sashes located at the eaves.
To the right of the cottage is an altered single-storey wing with a flat asphalt roof and two 20th-century casement windows. On the left, there is a small barn with a brick front, featuring central double plank doors. Beyond this barn is a single-storey range made of rubble stone, which includes staples and cartsheds. This range has a single plank door, a plank stable door, and open cartsheds supported by cast iron columns.
